We have big news for all you golf lovers out there—and for anyone looking for a high-performance smartwatch they can use every day! Garmin’s top-of-the-line golf GPS watch has been further enhanced and is now available as the latest model, the “Approach S72”!
We began accepting reservations on Wednesday, October 7! “How is this different from previous golf watches and laser rangefinders?” “How has it improved over the previous model (Approach S70)?”
To answer those questions, we’ve narrowed it down to three easy-to-understand highlights that show just how amazing the “Approach S72” really is!

① Here's what makes it so great! You can fully understand your own habits based on "data," not just "intuition"!
While laser rangefinders and cart navigation systems tell you the “distance,” the biggest advantage of wearing a watch on your wrist while playing is that you can track “your own data.” The new S72 has seen dramatic improvements in this area!
• Thorough Swing Analysis Based on Wrist Movement (NEW!) Just wear the watch and swing—it automatically measures “hand speed” and “the position of the backswing’s top (approximately what time on the watch face)” and “wrist rotation” are automatically measured! A new Driving Range Mode has also been added, allowing you to clearly see the difference between a good shot and a bad shot not just by feel, but through “numbers.”
• You can even see “which shots made you nervous”! (NEW!) The app continuously tracks your heart rate during a round, allowing you to review it alongside your score and each shot. It’s an exciting, unprecedented feature that visualizes the relationship between your mental state, physical condition, and score—so you can realize things like, “Wow, my heart was actually racing during that putt…”!

② This is a major improvement! It even tells you “how much it will curve” on the green!
From the tee shot to the putt, it supports you just as if a professional caddie were right by your side.
• Finally, the “Green Reading” feature is here! (NEW!) In addition to the “Virtual Caddy,” which recommends clubs based on wind direction, elevation changes, and your past driving distances, the S72 now features the new “Green Reading” function! It displays not only the distance to the hole but also specific values such as “curves X% to the right” or “X% uphill slope,” so you can approach your putt with confidence, thinking, “I’ll aim slightly left of the hole and hit it a little harder!”
• Master the course with realistic aerial photos! (NEW!) In addition to illustrated maps, the app now supports viewing holes from above using realistic “aerial photos.” You can intuitively see the locations of trees, bunkers, and target areas. (*A paid subscription to the Garmin Golf app is required to use green reading and the aerial photo view.)
• Packed with “handy” features for your round (NEW!) We’ve added new features that address those little annoyances, such as a “3-minute lost ball search timer” that follows competition rules, a navigation feature that guides you to the next hole’s tee box, and “Scramble Mode,” which is convenient for playing in a group.

③ It’s not just for golf days! The evolution into a “go-to watch” you’ll want to wear every day
If you’re thinking, “It’s a waste to use this only for golf…,” rest assured. The S72 has been significantly upgraded with features that will make you want to wear it every day—whether for business or in your daily life.
• Stronger, lighter, and more beautiful! (Evolved!) The screen features a “sapphire crystal lens” that’s highly scratch-resistant, the frame (bezel) is made of lightweight, premium “titanium,” and the band is now a soft, skin-friendly “nylon (ComfortFit fabric band).” It’s comfortable to wear all day long and won’t interfere with your swing. The screen now features an even brighter AMOLED display, ensuring a crisp view even outdoors in bright sunlight.
• Compatible with the latest health management and ECG apps (Upgraded!) Equipped with Garmin’s latest “5th-generation optical heart rate monitor,” it accurately measures sleep quality, stress levels, and Body Battery. It also now supports the “ECG app.”
• From lights and voice control to maps for hiking and running! (NEW!) For the first time in the series, this model features an “LED flashlight”—handy for setting out in the dark early morning or finding items in your bag—and a “speaker & microphone” that lets you control the watch by speaking to it!
