Takafumi Sato
Born in Akita City in 1983. While still in high school, at the age of 18, he won the Japan Music Competition and attracted a great deal of attention. After graduating at the top of his class from Tokyo University of the Arts, he went to Europe to study at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Hannover and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. During his studies, he won the Special Prize at the ARD International Competition in Munich in 2006, the 1st Prize at the Schubert International Competition in 2007, the 4th Prize and the Chopin Prize at the Sydney International Competition in 2008, the Prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in 2010, the 1st Prize at the Cantù International Competition in 2011, the Grand Prize at the Mendelssohn International She has received numerous awards, including the first prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in 2008, the first prize at the Cantu International Competition in 2011, the highest prize at the Mendelssohn International Competition, and the third prize and chamber music prize at the 2012 Hamamatsu International Competition. He has performed with many orchestras in Japan and abroad, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre National de Belgique. He is also active in recording, releasing more than 20 CDs in Japan and Europe, which are recommended by various newspapers and magazines. His latest album is "Sonatina Albums Vol. 1 and 2" (Live Notes). He is active in a wide range of fields including chamber music and composition and arrangement.

Akihiro Sakiya
Born in 1988 in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. Piano player specializing in classical music. He specializes in heavy repertoire and has a wide dynamic range that combines boldness and delicacy. After graduating at the top of his class from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and the master's program at the Tokyo University of the Arts, he received his doctorate in music from the same university.
He has won prizes at major domestic competitions such as the All Japan Student Music Competition, Pitina Piano Competition Special Class, and the Japan Music Competition, as well as the Lyon and Calabria International Competitions, and three international piano competitions affiliated with WFIMC (3rd prize at Busoni, 1st prize at Haen, and 1st prize at Santander), Santander). He has also been honored with the Clavier Grand Prize of the University of the Arts, Matsukata Hall Music Prize, Aoyama Music Award Newcomer Prize, Hyogo Prefecture Arts Encouragement Prize, Kobe City Cultural Encouragement Prize, and others. He has been working on a CD recording of the complete Beethoven: Piano Sonatas, and in recent years has been expanding his field of activities, including serving as artistic director of DPIC, and making his conducting debut with Salon Opera.
