Zaza Gogua, viola

 

Born in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Graduated from the State Conservatory of Tbilisi. Completed postgraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory. During his postgraduate studies, he studied under Yuri Bashmet. During his studies, he was appointed viola player of the Georgian National Chamber Orchestra, and after completing his studies, he became principal viola player of the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching as a full-time instructor at the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts. After that, he moved to Germany, where he spent two years as principal viola player of the Ingolstadt Chamber Orchestra (Germany), performing throughout the country.
In 1996, he came to Japan as principal viola player of the Osaka Symphoniker Symphony Orchestra (now the Osaka Symphony Orchestra).
In 1998, he formed the Tbilisi String Quartet, and together with its members has given concerts every year to date.
After serving as the principal viola player of Ensemble Kanazawa, he has been the principal viola player of Ensemble Kobe and Harmonious Chamber Orchestra since 2008. In addition to performing as a viola player, he serves as the Permanent Conductor of the Kawachinagano Philharmonic, and is also active in teaching younger students of stringed instruments, chamber music, and orchestra.
He has produced several CDs on viola, including "Zaza Gogua Viola Album" (2009), "Bridge between Georgia and Japan" (2016), and "Viola Romantic Album 2020" (2020). He is also an accomplished guitarist and singer, and has produced CDs of folk songs "Georgian Night" (2002) and "My Tbilisi Yo" (2012), which he sings on TV programs and performs in a wide range of musical activities.

Tomoko Inoue, piano

 

Graduated from Osaka Kyoiku University. Completed master's and doctoral studies at Hyogo University of Teacher Education. D. in School Education.
He received the 43rd Naniwa Arts Festival Newcomer Encouragement Award, and was selected for the 8th Japan Performers' Competition, among others. She has performed with the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, Harmonious Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Kobe, and others. Passed the Osaka International Music Competition Concerto Audition 2015 and performed with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria in 2016; performed with the Tbilisi String Quartet in the Georgian capital Tbilisi in 2017, and accompanied the Zaza Gogua Viola Recital. In 2018, she performed as flute accompanist at the International music festival "AutumunTbilisi".
She has studied piano under Keiko Uno, Hiroko Tsunekawa, and Chiyo Kinoshita. Currently, she is an associate professor at the Junior College of Hyogo University.
