Profile

Masahiro Yano Flute

Graduated first in his class from Musashino Academia Musicae
In 1987, he performed at the 57th Yomiuri Newcomers' Concert. In 1992, he joined the City Orchestra of Joensuu, Finland, as principal flute, and at the same time became a full-time lecturer at the Sibelius Academy of Music in Kuopio, Finland. Since 1996, he has organized the chamber orchestra "Ensemble Kobe", which has given more than 100 concerts.
Since 2001, he has organized and conducted the Kobe 21st Century Mixed Chorus; in January 2007, he appeared in NHK-FM Masterpiece Recital; in 2009, he was assistant conductor at the Kurt Mazur Master Class in Tokyo; in March 2017, he conducted the subscription concert of the Romanian National Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra. In October 2018, he conducted the subscription concert of the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra of Georgia, and his flute recital in Tbilisi was featured on national television.
Awarded the Grand Prize of the 2nd Matsukata Hall Music Award in 1998. Awarded the 2008 Kobe City Cultural Encouragement Prize.

Xavier Lac Flute

After graduating from the University of Melbourne, he studied at the Royal College of Music in England and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He was a longtime contract player for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera. He has been invited as a guest player to many world-class orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and the NHK Symphony Orchestra. After serving as the first flute player of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra, he has been the vice principal flute player of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008. He is a professor at Kobe College School of Music.

 

Aoi Tokunaga Flute

Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts after studying music at Nishinomiya High School in Hyogo Prefecture.
First Prize in the 6th Sakai Wind & Percussion Competition. The 26th Kobe International Music Competition, 1st Prize. The 23rd Great Wall Cup International Music Competition, 1st Prize. He has received many other awards.
He has performed as a soloist with the Romanian National Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra and Ensemble Kobe.
Currently he is a flutist of the Okayama Philharmonic Orchestra and Ensemble Kobe.
Part-time lecturer at Nishinomiya Prefectural High School, Department of Music.

 

Tsuyoshi Nohara Flute

Flutist/Conductor/Producer
Graduated from Osaka College of Music. He is the leader of one of the largest flute communities in Kansai, and oversees the 500-piece flute ensemble and Nomad Opera organized by the city of Kobe. In 2024, he produced "Beyond The Deep Ocean" commissioned by Kyodo Senpaku Co.
(He is the President of Crescendo Sistema, Inc. (Outside Director of STEAM Sports Laboratory, Inc. (Delegate of the Japan Flute Association.
