Koichi Komine, viola

Studied violin under Kenichi Miyazawa from the age of six, switched to viola at the age of eleven, and graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with the highest honors after attending the high school attached to the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and its university. He studied viola under Junji Suganuma, B. Pasquier, C. Lerone, and F. Nyeri.

In 2007, she gave her debut recital at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (sponsored by the Japan Federation of Musicians), which was well received by various magazines including "Ongaku Gendai". In 2014, she appeared as a soloist in the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra's "New Year Concert" (Junichi Hirokami, conductor), and in 2015, she appeared as a soloist in the "New Year Concert" of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra (Junichi Hirokami, conductor). In 2019, she will premiere Kenji Sakai's "Viola Concerto 'Historia'" with the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra (Jun-ichi Hirokami cond.) In 2022, she will perform again with Mr. Argerich in Beppu. In addition, she has appeared at numerous music festivals and on the radio, including Viola Space, Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto (now Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival), Recital Nova (NHK-FM), and with J. Poullet, O. Charlier, Jan Songwon, E. Strossé, G. Hoffmann, and the He has performed with the Wihan String Quartet, and recorded Beethoven's "Serenade" with flutist Kazunori Seo.

His debut solo album "Monologue", released in 2020, featuring Reger's unaccompanied viola suites, was highly acclaimed by various newspapers and selected as a special selection by Record Geijutsu magazine, followed by the release in 2022 of Hindemith's complete unaccompanied viola sonatas, " Dialogue" was also highly acclaimed by various newspapers and was selected as a special selection disc by Record Geijutsu magazine.

Formed in 2012, the Kansai String Quartet performs a variety of string quartets with a focus on Beethoven. In addition to regular activities, the quartet performs extensively, including appearances on NHK-BSP's Classic Club (NHK-BSP) and Best of Classics (NHK-FM), and collaborations with Yasutsugu Toyoshima and the renowned Pražák Quartet of the Czech Republic. 2014 Osaka Cultural Festival Award Encouragement Prize and 2015 Sakuya Konohana Award Winner; CD " Glazunov & Borodin" was released.

For original instrumental performances, he has participated in Bach Collegium Japan, Orchestra Libera Classica, and Hidemi Suzuki's Gut Salon with Hidemi Suzuki, Natsumi Wakamatsu, and Shunsuke Sato.

After serving as a student of the Orchestre de Paris Academy and Principal of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, he is currently Principal of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra, Kansai String Quartet, and Kyoto Lavish Ensemble. He is a part-time lecturer at Kyoto City University of Arts and Soai University.

 

Aiko Hoki, piano

After graduating from Kyoto Municipal Music High School (now Kyoto Horikawa Music High School), he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. He was a Yamaha Scholarship student under the Yamaha Overseas Study Support Program. After graduating with honors from the piano and chamber music departments, he completed the postgraduate program (third course) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. Received a conservatoire diploma from the Conservatoire de Paris-Colle Normale.

Winner of the Epinal International Competition (France). Awarded the Contemporary Music Prize at the Forum de Normandie. Awarded the Best Music Prize at the 20th ABC Newcomer's Concert. First Prize at the 23rd Takarazuka Vega Music Competition. Awarded the Hyogo Prefecture Governor's Prize.

She has performed with orchestras in Japan and abroad, and has given several world and Japan premieres of contemporary works. She has given several world and Japan premieres of contemporary works, and has appeared on NHK-FM's Recital Nova and Recital Passio.
