Began playing the violin at the age of seven.
After graduating from Toho Girls' High School of Music, she graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music at the top of her class and performed in the Yomiuri Shimbun sponsored Newcomer's Concert.
First Prize in the Junior High School Division of the 51st All Japan Student Music Competition in Osaka. Third prize in the high school division of the 54th All Japan Student Music Competition in Tokyo.
First prize in the string section of the 15th Takarazuka Vega Music Competition.
Studied violin with the late Chihiro Kudo and Koichiro Harada, and chamber music with Futao Tokunaga and Hakuro Mori.
While a student, she has been active in solo and chamber music, and has attended numerous master classes with the Tokyo Quartet, Juilliard Q, Vermeer Q, Shanghai Q, Bartok Q, Günter Pichler, and others.
In 2007, she performed with the Thomas Zertmeyer Quartet at Suntory Hall as Quartet Nats, and in 2009 she made her debut as the first violin of the Regerme Quartet at the JT Art Hall. She has appeared in "Project Q" Chapters 1-4, JT Art Hall Chamber Music Series, Kamakura Solisten, Tokyo Ensemble, Orchestra Map's, Outreach Forum for Revitalizing Public Hall Music, Miyazaki Music Festival, NHK-FM "Recital Nova", etc. She has appeared on NHK-FM's "Recital Nova," among others.
After serving as assistant concert mistress of the Century Orchestra of Japan from August 2011 to March 2015, he was appointed concertmaster of the orchestra in April 2015.
He is active not only in orchestra, but also in solo and ensemble performances, including the "Concert of the Complete Works of Ysaÿe".
Winner of the 2019 Sakuya Konohana Award.

 

Itsuko Sakano

 

Born in Kyoto. Starting with the second prize at the 69th Japan Music Competition, he has performed solo and chamber music with various artists, and actively participates in various chamber music projects such as music festivals and recordings in Japan and abroad.
Took piano trio lessons with Isaac Stern at the 6th Miyazaki International Music Festival. Won prizes at numerous national and international competitions, including the highest prize at the 7th Trieste International Chamber Music Competition (Italy).
Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music, Department of Piano at the top of her class, and received the Takeoka Prize. She studied at Toho Gakuen School of Music's Soloist Diploma Course. In addition to his energetic performance activities, he also teaches younger students at Kunitachi College of Music High School, his alma mater.
