November 23 (Sunday, holiday) is the once-a-year "Oyster Day! Fresh oysters in season are half price all day long!

November 23 is "Oyster Day" every year.
This day is called "Kinro Kanko no Hi" (Labor Thanksgiving Day), which is derived from the ancient Niinamesai Festival, a day of thanksgiving for the harvest and praise for hard work.
In 2004, the National Federation of Fishermen's Cooperative Associations established "Oyster Day" in the hope that oysters, rich in nutrients, would relieve the fatigue of daily life.
