<開催概要>
This exhibition is being held in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the publication of the first “Moomin” novel in 2025, in collaboration with the Helsinki City Art Museum (HAM) in Finland.
Tove Jansson (1914–2001), the creator of “Moomin” and an artist who demonstrated her talent across a wide range of fields, including painting, caricature, comics, picture books, and novels. Through approximately 300 works—including her early oil paintings, caricatures from around the time of World War II, original artwork and sketches for the “Moomin” novels and comics, and personal belongings—this exhibition looks back on Tove’s creative world. It also explores the appeal of the “Moomin” series, which deeply reflects her life.
